First Week of School

Wolfie's first week of school went very well. He loves, just loves, riding the school bus every day. He actually gets excited when we tell him that he will be riding the bus the next day and going to school. It's a great relief for us to say the least. I certainly hope it stays this way.
And, just in case you were concerned, there are no older kids on the bus. And, it's not a short bus......

First Day of School

First day of school, first day of school, ready to learn to get some knowledge.
Wolfie was so excited to go to school as you can probably tell. It's all about his backpack, he wore it with such pride. Cathy dropped him off at 7:45 and we will all go pick him up at 10:45. I hope he is as excited for school tomorrow as he is today. I think he will be.
He did sleep later today then he normally does. We actually had to wake him up after sun-up. He was all sleepy and groggy. Yep, definitely ready for school.....

Not 100 degrees today???

I was a bit saddened today when it didn't reach 100 degrees today for the first time in 40 days. The record is 42 days, so it fell 1 day short. To come so close and not make it, just sad. To make things worse, the ten day forecast calls for 10 days over 100. Start a new streak?

Sunday, July 24, 2011

The last time I posted back in the middle of June was probably the last day it wasn't 100 degrees or hotter. I'm not kidding, it was 104 today. So, we spend a lot of time inside these days. They like to play dress up, hide and seek, and to wrestle each other. Occasionally, we go out back to play and look for locusts or play in the water.
Sebastian weighed 23.5 lbs on his 1st birthday check-up. All was well. I intend to post more often than I have been.

Birthday Parties

I can't believe it has been 2 months since my last post. That is not acceptable. I hope there are still people reading this. We threw a birthday party for both Wolfie and Sebastian on the 4th of June. It was a bit early for both, but since it was in the backyard, we were hoping to beat the heat. Just like previous years, we did not. It was about 98 or so, quite lovely. We had a good time, though, and I think the kids did. We included small pools and water guns to help keep the kids cool.

Crystal Beach 2011

This past weekend, from Thursday to Monday, we were able to travel down to Crystal Beach (near Galveston) to attend Kevin and Kim Daugherty's 10-year vow renewal celebration. We had a blast seeing many friends and making new ones while creating special memories. This was the first time to the beach for the kids and they LOVED the water and the sand.
We were also pleased to be able to spend time with Daniel and Dorothy and the kids in Houston. Wolfie and Jules just about had the time of their lives with Eryn and Kathryn and they even had a 'sleep-over' in the girl's room, which actually went pretty well.

Fun in the Park

Last Monday was Cathy's birthday, so we celebrated by going to a new park to play. Kids had a blast as did we.
Wolfie was so excited that he couldn't wait to show me (Greg) the new park he had played in before.
Juliette is just happy anywhere she and her brother are and she is braver than ever and learning to talk more everyday. The cutest thing she is doing right now is when we say "My Mega Mind" (that's a kid's animation movie that she has only seen parts of at most), she will respond, "No, My Ma Ma Ga Minds". Toooo cute, we make her say time after time while laughing (not at her, but with her).
Sebastian is such a happy-go-lucky baby. He's happy if his brother and sister are in the same room, that's all it takes.

Sebastian is sitting up now and loves being able to interact with his siblings more that way. They seem to like it more too. He is by far the best baby of the three which is saying something. He is almost always happy. Incredible. Jules is having some terrible two issues from time to time, but she is still a doll. Wolfie is all good too. He will be going to pre-K for three hours a day starting next fall.

The weather has really warmed up nice the last couple of days and we were able to play in the back yard yesterday. That was fun. Sebastian isn't sitting up just yet, but he is getting close. He eats baby food well though and keeps growing and growing.
Juliette is talking and talking and really putting her words together well.
Wolfie had a blast helping Cathy make Rice Krispy treats during that cold snap.

Ice/Snow Day

It is nasty, nasty out there today, so I'm staying home by the fire and with a pot of coffee and trying to keep the kids from wanting to go play in the ice (no snow at the moment, just ice). It's 20 or so right now and will stay that temperature until Friday or something. Fun.

Sebastian had his 6 month check-up today. He tested 'off the charts' for height and weight. Dr Sutton couldn't believe that he's only 6 months old. He weighs 18.5 lbs and is 29" long. Juliette is only 10.5 lbs heavier then Sebastian, so he is catching her. It's odd to me that a baby could be bigger then 100% since I assumed that was the biggest. He's the biggest baby ever and there is no chart for a baby that size? Wouldn't he just be the new 100%? Maybe I'm thinking about this too much.
Oh, and he has RSV, but it is mild and he's doing well even though he's got a cough and had a fever a few days ago. His mood is very good as usual, the best. Take care, everyone.

I don't have too much today. The Arkansas/Ohio St game came up at church today and I started getting worked up all over again on the way home thinking about how close they were and how they blew it. Both the Rangers and Hogs had great years, but both came oh so close to finishing strong. Oh well. Here are some pics.
